LACHINE, Que., Aug. 7.—At the proceedings here today, commemorative of the great Indian massacre of 200 years ago, Hon. Mr. Taillon delivered a great speech on the early settlers of Canada. At the conclusion of the Conservative leader’s ad¬dress, he called upon the people of Quebec province not to forget that while they were French Canadians they were Canadians pure and simple at the same time, and that they should work hand in hand with their fellow countrymen of other races and creeds for the good of their common country.
