Wants a French Candidate for Northumberland

As events point to a general election in the near future, would it not be prudent for the Catholics of Northumberland County to wake up, and place their Catholics on each ticket.
In justice to all concerned a French Acadian should be on each ticket; as they now form an important factor in Miramichi and are entirely unrepresented.
It is to be hoped that this will be done without delay and that the French candidates will receive the solid support of their Irish co-religionists.
It is a debt of gratitude that we owe to the Acadian people. Our protestant friends who always boast of their tolerance, will hardly offer any objections to justice being done to their French neighbors.
