First rate weather being granted, the Centennial Celebration should prove highly successful. Every sort of preparation fitting and practicable in a place like this seems to be going on. There is ample variety in the planning, and much enthusiasm is being manifested in the work. People of all sorts should be satisfied. The solemn thoughts fitting the occasion will find expression in devotional exercises provided for. The lovers of picturesque spectacles will have their vision greeted with a grand display of banners and greenery, multiform processions very wonderful to witness, the firemen, the Calithumps and the Polymorphs having quite surpassed themselves in their preparations, brilliant illuminations and splendid fireworks. The admirers of open-air sports will find gratification in the fun promoting performances on Barrack Square in the afternoon. Those who have a taste for oratory will give themselves up to the magical influence of Judge Wedderburn's glowing periods, and those who delight in recalling the times of the their Loyalist forefathers will find interest in the archaic recollections of Mr. Laurence. Providence favoring us we see not why everybody should not be gratified with the celebration.
