They Didn’t Meet.
MR. EDITOR, -- Last night, our Conservative friends – Duncan Harper, F. Robideau and R.C. Tait – drove out to Malakoff to address the electors on the political questions of the day, but when they arrived there they found no one to tell their little yarns to, so they returned to their homes wiser and sadder men. We fear that with such eloquent (?) and popular men as above mentioned, Mr. Emmerson will stand a slim chance.

P. S. -- Messrs. Robideau and Belliveau threaten to paralyze the two French gentlemen from Quebec, should they speak here. Poor fellows! We do pity them so much if they fall into the clutches of such able and powerful men. Kindly warn them that their doom is sealed.
