The Loyalist Celebration Almost from the time the firemen of the city announced their intention of getting up a procession and other displays on the 18th May, they made it known that sports on the Barrack Square would form part of their programme. It now seems that the 62nd Fusiliers propose to hold their [italics on their] sports on the Square on the 18th, and consequently trouble seems to be ahead. The firemen think that having taken the initiative in arranging to celebrate the day with some sort of eclat [italics on eclat], they have a prior claim to the ground. It is to be hoped that the matter will be arranged amicably, as any wrangling would militate against the success of the celebration.
